Birds and Bugs
Birds & Bugs is a free, public Wildlife Discovery Event created by Les Fruits de Mer, where St. Martin residents and visitors of all ages can see and learn about the amazing birds and invertebrates living in the broadleaf forest. The event will include birding tours of the forest guided by experts, a bird education station, a bug discovery station, and local wildlife-themed art activities for children. Migratory Bird Festival
Our third annual Migratory Bird Festival took place in October at University of St. Martin. Learn more about it on the MBF page of this site and on Facebook. Heritage Photo Exhibition
The exhibition for our 2nd annual Heritage Photo Contest will take place this summer. The contest is currently accepting entries for this year’s theme: Neighborhoods. Learn more about the contest and how to enter.

St. Martin Billfish Tournament
We will have an education station at the event where we will be analyzing the stomach contents of fish and educating the public about marine life as well as fish and fishing heritage on St. Martin

Endemic Animal Festival
Our second annual Endemic Animal Festival will celebrate the unique animals that are found only on our island or only in our region. The festival will be held at the Discovery Farm and Garden at Seaside Nature Park in Cay Bay, Sint Maarten from 9am-Noon. More details coming soon. Heritage Photo Exhibition
The Heritage Photo Contest and Exhibition is an opportunity to showcase St. Martin/St. Maarten’s unique natural, cultural and historic heritage. The theme of this year’s contest and exhibition will be Vibrant and Vulnerable. The goal of this project is to raise awareness about the beautiful, valuable and extraordinary heritage of St. Martin/St. Maarten, as well as the threats facing this heritage and the need to preserve it. We hope that this contest will serve as an opportunity to explore, share and promote many of the things that make this island unique, and serve as a focal point to understand, discuss and act on the things that put this heritage at risk. Migratory Bird Festival Preview (Les Fruits de Mer members)
Our Migratory Bird Festival preview is a members-only event that is part planning and part fun. We will visit the Migratory Bird Festival site to work out logistics for the event and also test/enjoy some of the event activities.

Migratory Bird Festival
The Migratory Bird Festival is a free, public event where residents and visitors alike can see and learn about the migratory birds that travel thousands of miles each year to visit or spend the winter in St. Martin. These amazing birds connect the Americas with their incredible journeys, and St. Martin plays an important role in their life cycle. This event features guided birding tours, bird education, a portable pond aquatic invertebrates activity, migratory bird-themed art activities and the prize ceremony for the Birds of St. Maarten Competition. This year’s festival takes place at University of St. Martin, right in the middle of the Great Salt Pond, the seasonal home of many migratory bird species.

Endemic Animal Festival
Les Fruits de Mer’s annual Endemic Animal Festival is a free event, open to tourists and residents of all ages, that promotes St. Martin/St. Maarten’s unique wildlife and natural heritage. The Endemic Animal Festival is a fantastic opportunity to learn about local wildlife, important ecosystems, and history from experts–and a celebration of the fascinating natural world of this island. It’s the only event on the island to showcase our extraordinary local and regional endemics: the animals that live only on St. Martin/St. Maarten and those that live only in our region. The Festival will feature wildlife tours guided by experts, an Endemic Animal Discovery Station, and local wildlife-themed art activities for children. The 2014 Endemic Animal Festival will take place at Seaside Nature Park in Cay Bay on Sunday, April 27th from 9am to noon. The event is brought to you by Les Fruits de Mer and Seaside Nature Park.

SnorkelFest is a free, public Wildlife Discovery Event created by Les Fruits de Mer, where St. Martin residents and visitors of all ages can experience the magic of undersea life and the sport, art, and science of snorkeling. It’s a unique opportunity to learn about marine wildlife and the island’s important underwater ecosystems from experts. SnorkelFest also promotes snorkeling as a fun and healthy activity, as well as a way to explore and enjoy the fascinating underwater world of St. Martin.
