Meet a very teeny cleaner–the Sharknose Goby! This beautiful fish is super small. The biggest it ever gets is 4 cm (1.6 inches)! It has a bright, lemon yellow V shape over its snout. It does a really important job–it cleans the little parasites, or pests, off of other fish. Most fish can’t get rid of their own parasites, so they visit a “cleaning station.” That’s a special spot on the reef where little cleaner shrimp, or cleaner fish like Sharknose Gobies, hang out and wait to eat the parasites off larger fish.

So if you spot one in the water, be careful so you don’t scare it!

Web Burrfish are usually nocturnal feeders, which means they eat at night. They like to eat sea creatures with shells, like hermit crabs, barnacles and shellfish. Their strong, beak-like mouths help them crush those hard shells.
